Announcing Marie Denig!

Dear Epiphany Disciples,

I am delighted to announce that Marie Denig will join the Epiphany family as our next Director of Music Ministries.  She will officially begin her role in mid-March and her first Sunday will be March 23. 

Marie was born in Michigan, grew up in Oklahoma, and has lived in North Carolina since 1999.  Marie was quick to tell the Search Team that while she has served various Methodist congregations in the Triad, including Centenary, Sedge Garden, and Mount Pisgah, she was a product of Lutheran schools!  Her roles in congregation have included organist, hand bell choir director, children’s choir director, praise team director, and accompanist.

Outside the congregations she has served, Marie has extensive community musical and theater involvement.  She has sung with Bel Canto as well as directed several musical theater productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, and Fiddler on the Roof.

Our Search Team, consisting of Dan Meckley, Lew Saphar, Mitzi Silverstein, Laura Spain, and Pastor Russell Peek, were impressed with Marie’s musical abilities and her emphasis on music being a ministry of the congregation.  It was very apparent that she works diligently to maintain her own spiritual life and develop the spiritual lives of others through music. 

I look forward to welcoming Marie, and her son Gabe, to the Epiphany family.   Please join me in giving her a warm welcome when you meet her.
