The Advent and Christmas seasons are a very special time of the year. We celebrate the coming of Jesus, remembering the Comfort, Hope, and Joy he brings to all.

Coming Soon: A New Pipe Organ! 

During this Advent season, as we await the coming of Jesus, we also wait with excitement as a new pipe organ is installed in our sanctuary.  Stay tuned for more information about this wonderful, historic event at Epiphany!

We gather for weekly worship in person or by livestream on Facebook and YouTube.

 

November 30 - Ibraham Elementary Gifts Due.

We partner with Ibraham Elementary School in Winston-Salem as a part of our feeding and school support ministry. If you’ve grabbed a tag from the Angel Tree, it’s due today! If you’d like for someone to shop for you, you can donate $40 and a member of Epiphany’s Outreach Committee will shop for you.

 

December 3, 10, 17, 7:00 pm – Advent Mid-Week Eucharist

Wednesdays in Advent we will gather for a brief worship service in the Sanctuary. This year’s theme, A Song to Sing. A light supper is served at 6:00 pm.

 

December 7 - Nora, Virginia Gifts Due

Epiphany members will take unwrapped Christmas gifts for children at the Binns-Counts Community Center near Nora, Virginia, a community in rural southwestern Virginia.

 

December 8, 6 pm, River Birch Lodge - Women’s Sock Exchange

All women are invited to the River Birch Lodge at 6 pm for a meal. Bring socks with little goodies in them to exchange with others.

 

December 13, 6:00 pm – Joint Christmas Event

We will start at Epiphany and visit other area church for a holiday-filled evening.  Think “Progressive Dinner,” only with crafts, snacks, singing, and lots of fun! 

 

December 14, 10:00 am – Advent Lessons and Carols

This morning we’ll sing together in anticipation as we await the coming of Jesus. 

 

December 14, After Worship – Children’s Christmas Pageant

Our children will have a wonderful Christmas pageant after worship called “All is Bright: The Story of the Advent Wreath.”  You won’t want to miss this! 

December 14, After Christmas Pageant - Youth Christmas Party

Youth from 6th - 12th grade are invited to join us for lunch, a Christmas party, and an Escape Room. Please bring a $10 gift for a game and sign up online (or let Liz know). 

 

December 18, 4:00 pm – EECC Christmas Program

Around Epiphany we love seeing and hearing children.  Our childcare center’s Christmas program will be a great opportunity to hear children tell the story of Jesus’ birth. 

 

December 24, 4:00 and 7:00 pm – Christmas Eve Worship

Alleluia! Christ is born! Our 4:00 service will be a simplified, quieter worship service with carols, communion, and candlelight in person only. Our 7 p.m. service will be in person or live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Come hear the story of Jesus’ birth and sing beloved Christmas carols.

 

December 28, 10:00 am – Christmas Lessons and Carols

We will gather in person or by livestream on Facebook and YouTube for a beloved tradition of hearing the Christmas story and singing Christmas carols on Christmas Day. You can bring Christmas cookies to share before or after worship.

 

Sunday, January 4, 10:00 am – Epiphany Sunday

The first Sunday in January, we celebrate our congregation’s namesake, Epiphany. We’ll recall the wise men from foreign lands coming to worship the infant Jesus. After worship we will have a international themed potluck lunch in the Fellowship Hall. 

 

January 4 - ELCA Good Gifts Due

Our challenge is to raise enough money to purchase 5 family farms for families throughout the developing world. Each family farm costs $715 and includes a cow, a couple goats, a dozen chicks, two pigs, farming tools, seeds and agricultural training.
